Athiya Shetty and Kl Rahul have finally made an appearance in front of the media after getting married in a private ceremony in Khandala today. The newly weds posed for the paparazzi that has been stationed at some distance outside Suniel Shetty ’s Khandala farmhouse since Sunday.
The couple was all smiles as they posed together for the first time as a married couple. Athiya looked stunning in a baby pink lehenga, while KL Rahul was dashing as a groom in an all white sherwani. The giant rock on the bride’s finger was on full display too while she also wore a mangalsutra.

The actress and the cricketer dated for a few years before finally tying the knot in a ceremony attended by their families and a few close friends. Much like their relationship, their wedding festivities also were kept at a safe distance from the cameras.
Athiya and KL met through mutual friends and fell in love. While they confirmed their relationship months before tying the knot, speculations about their wedding followed which finally were confirmed by their family last year.
The wedding festivities of the bride and groom began last weekend with the sangeet ceremony taking place in Khandala last night. The haldi was held this morning followed by the wedding which started close to 4 PM. Athiya’s father and actor Suniel Shetty and her brother Ahan Shetty arrived to greet the waiting media confirming that the couple has tied the knot and also distributed sweets to celebrate the occasion.
While the wedding was private affair, Suniel Shetty confirmed that a wedding reception will follow for the newlyweds which will be attended by their friends from the industry. The event, however, has been planned for after the IPL season. The reception will be lavish affair with close to 3000 guests getting invited to bless the couple.
Reports have also claimed that the couple will not be going on a honeymoon right after the wedding and will soon resume work.
