Arjun Kanungo stresses on maintenance of auditoriums after KK's demise: It's a multi-varied problem

Singer KK’s untimely demise has left a huge void in the music industry. Several of his industry friends including Shaan has expressed grief and frustration on the former’s unfortunate death after performing live at a Kolkata auditorium. Recently, Arjun Kanungo has shared a similar experience he had at the same auditorium.

For the unversed, KK passed away on May 31 after a live performance at Nazrul Mancha for Gurudas College fest. The singer was allegedly sweating profusely during the show due to the non-working AC at the concert. Immediately after the show, he began to feel unwell and was taken to the hotel. Later, he complained of chest pain and was immediately rushed to the CMRI hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Recalling a similar experience, Arjun complained about how these auditoriums are not maintained well. “I couldn’t breathe. It is insane how hot it is. It was so hot, that the ACs were not working. These older auditoriums are not maintained well. It’s a multi-varied problem. The auditorium should have been better. I don’t know if they [the management] were aware. If they were aware that he’s not feeling well, and he said something, then they should have stopped the show. It doesn’t matter, it’s (just) one show,” he told Hindustan Times.

Further, the Fursat singer emphasized the necessity for medical facilities near the venue of concerts. “When we do a shoot, every call sheet comes with the (details of) closest hospital and police station. Organisers need to figure out where the closest hospital is. If the organiser knows the artiste is not feeling well, they need to act,” he added.

Earlier, Shaan has voiced his opinion on KK’s health and said that someone could have told the singer to get his heart checked. “This shouldn’t have happened. Some say that when it is meant to be, it happens, but this shouldn’t have happened. So many people around him, but no one could understand or he himself could not understand that the acute pain in the back, shoulder, and arm pain can be symptoms of a heart attack,” he told Bollywood Hungama .
