Arbaaz Khan extends support after Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora dies by suicide

Bollywood actress and model Malaika Arora’s father Anil Arora passed away in Mumbai. The police reported that Anil died by suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of a building in Bandra, Mumbai, on the morning of Wednesday (September 11). Soon upon hearing the tragic news, Malaika’s former husband and actor Arbaaz Khan reached the actress’ mother’s home to extend his support to the family.

The paparazzi captured videos of Arbaaz Khan arriving at Malaika’s mother’s (Joyce Polycarp) residence in Mumbai to offer his condolences and extend support to her family. In the video, Arbaaz was seen standing outside Joyce’s house wearing a white shirt and black pants.

Anil Arora died by suicide in Mumbai

Anil Arora died by suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of the building. According to reports, the incident happened at 10.30 am at Ayesha Manor in Bandra (West). Police told The Indian Express that they have not found any notes as yet but the search for any leads is still ongoing. The police said, “Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide, but we are probing the incident from all angles. A process to file an accidental death report is on.” Anil’s body was sent to Bhabha Hospital for a post-mortem.

Malaika on Anil Arora and Joyce Polycarp’s divorce

Speaking about her childhood and familial relationships, Malaika said in an interview in 2022 that she suffered tough times in childhood when her parents, Anil Arora and Joyce Polycarp had a divorce when she was 11 years old. After the divorce, Malaika moved to Chembur with her mother and sister Amrita Arora.

In an interview with Grazia India, she said, ''I had a wonderful childhood, but it wasn't easy. In fact, in retrospect, the word I would use to describe it is tumultuous. But tough times teach you important lessons too.''

Joyce Polycarp is a Malayali Christian, while Anil Arora was originally from Punjab and worked with the Merchant Navy. Malaika was last seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan where she had a cameo performance. The model got married to Arbaaz in 1998 but parted ways in 2017. The couple has a son named Arhaan together.
