In September this year, a shooting incident was reported outside Punjabi singer and rapper AP Dhillon's house in Canada's Vancouver. The latest updates about the incident reveal that the police have arrested a 25-year-old man in Ontario, while another suspect is still at large. It is reported that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the attack, which happened only weeks after AP Dhillon released his music video Old Money, featuring Bollywood star Salman Khan.
Suspect arrested in AP Dhillon house firing incident
According to a report by Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the officials have arrested a 25-year-old man named Abjeet Kingra of Winnipeg. The man has been charged with discharging a firearm with intent and arson and revealed that he was arrested in Ontario and will appear in court on Friday. It is also reported that the police have issued an arrest warrant for another suspect named Vikram Sharma, a 23-year-old who has likely fled to India.
The statement reads, "On October 30, 2024, a man was arrested and later charged in connection with recklessly discharging a firearm into a residence, as well as setting fire to two vehicles in the 3300 block of Ravenwood Road, Colwood, in September. The crime occurred on September 20, 2024.”
For those unaware, a shooting incident happened outside Punjabi singer and rapper AP Dhillon's house in Vancouver in Canada and two vehicles parked outside the house were also set on fire.
Lawrence Bishnoi gang takes responsibility
The incident happened only weeks after Dhillon released his music video Old Money, featuring Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the shooting and Dhillon’s connection with Salman is said to be the reason for the attack. According to reports, the gangsters warned the singer to “stay within his limits or he would meet a dog's death.”
In July this year, a firing incident also took place outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Mumbai. In the chargesheet filed by Mumbai Police, Salman named Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi to be responsible for the attack.
Recently, politician Baba Siddique was shot dead in Bandra. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the attack, claiming they targeted him because of his close association with Salman. The gang later sent death threats to the Bollywood star via a Facebook post, after which security for Salman was increased.
