Anurag Kashyap on not working with stars anymore: 'I am on their bucket list but..'
Anurag is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Haddi. The filmmaker will be seen sharing screen space with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the upcoming hard-hitting noir revenge drama directed by the debutant Akshat Ajay Sharma
With movies like Gang Of Wasseypur and Raman Raghav, Anurag Kashyap has carved a niche for himself in the film industry. Every actor in today’s time wants to work with the filmmaker whether it be A-list stars or budding actors. However, Anurag has lately been working with newcomers or lesser-known actors. In the latest interview, Anurag revealed the reason behind him doing lesser films with stars.
“There are two sides to it. Everybody wants to work with me but everybody wants to do another Dev-D or Gangs of Wasseypur or Manmarziyaan with me. But the thing is they know what film they want to do with me and nobody wants to do something new which I want to do. I don’t want to go back to what I have done before. So I want everybody's bucket list alongside a condition,” he told Film Companion.
He further added, “I have had stars walk up to me and say “Sir mere saath Dev D jaisa kuch banao na.” But that won’t be a question if the last one was a blockbuster then they will take a chance. It entirely depends upon what is your last film. So the bucket list is with conditions applied. Ya toh hit hai ya mera cult character hai,” he said and laughed.
Meanwhile, Anurag is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Haddi. The filmmaker will be seen sharing screen space with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the upcoming hard-hitting noir revenge drama directed by the debutant Akshat Ajay Sharma. The film is set to stream on OTT platform ZEE5 on September 7, 2023. This is not the first time, Anurag will be acting. Earlier, he acted in Ak VS Ak, Akira, and Imaikkaa Nodigal (Tamil action thriller) among others apart from several cameo appearances.
