Just a couple of days ago, the prolific filmmaker Anurag Kashyap made a splash on social media and sent the fear factor across the spine of many viewers with the teaser of his latest offering as an actor in the form of Bad Cop. Headlined by Anurag Kashyap and Gulshan Devaiah, Bad Cop seems to be a ‘cop-drama’ (or is it a cop’s drama?) which will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

After the super exciting teaser which was uploaded on social media, the show’s makers today, released (read ‘unleashed’) yet another video which introduces Anurag Kashyap as the new villain. Titled ‘New Villain Loading’, the said video shows Anurag Kashyap standing with a ‘cutting chai’ in his hand. Once the camera is on him, Anurag Kashyap tells a policeman to take a cloth and wipe off the sweat from his face.

This is followed by Anurag Kashyap taking a comb and combing his hair in style and asking ‘Kaisa lag raha hai main?” And when a fellow policeman tells him that he was looking like a hero, Anurag Kashyap immediately then corrects him saying, ‘He is not a hero… but a merciless villain’! He, then, holds a criminal slate which states his name as Kazbe, Central Jail! This is then, followed by a glimpse of his day-to-day activities as an inmate of Central Jail!

For the unversed, the Anurag Kashyap and Gulshan Devaiah starrer Bad Cop is an adaptation of RTL’s German show 'Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut. The series has been directed by Aditya Datt and has been adapted by Rensil D'Silva. While Anurag Kashyap plays the ruthless and merciless villain Kazbe in the series, Gulshan Devaiah will be seen in the role of ‘smarter than thou’ kind of policeman named Inspector Karan, who is on a mission to jail the character played by Anurag Kashyap!

The series, which marks Fremantle India’s first fictional series production in India, will also see actors like Harleen Sethi, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Aishwarya Sushmita in important roles. The release date of the series has not been disclosed by the show’s makers so far.
