Anupamaa: Makers of Rupali Gangly's show to give Rs 10 lakh to family of crew member who passed away on set

    A tragic incident happened on the sets of Rupali Ganguly starrer television show Anupamaa on November 14. A crew member, named Anil Mandal, passed away on set due to electrocution while handling technical equipment during the shoot. Now, the latest update suggests that the makers of the show have announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the victim’s family.

    According to a report by ETimes TV, The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) President B.N. Tiwari revealed that the makers of Anupamaa have announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the deceased's family. He told the portal, "We have received a communication from Rajan Shahi's office that a compensation of Rs 10 lakhs will be given to father of Anil Mandal as he was unmarried."

    Tiwari also revealed that Anil was newly appointed to the job and hence did not have many connections on the set. It is revealed that Anil got electrocuted due to a short circuit.

    The makers of Anupamaa also expressed grief over the demise of a crew member and released a statement. It revealed that the makers had made arrangements for Anil’s family to come from Patna and covered all the hospital and medical expenses. The Director of Photography (DOP) on the set called the mishap a 'human error'.

    Soon after the incident took place, he was immediately taken to the hospital and given instant medical help but unfortunately, he passed away. The makers made immediate arrangements and they sent flight tickets to the family members of the deceased, who were urgently called from Patna.

    Soon after the incident, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) demanded justice for the deceased and called his death "institutionalized murder caused by greed and negligence of producers, the production house, and the channel."

    The founder and the President of AICWA, Suresh Shamlal Gupta had sent out a letter to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, and demanded a compensation of Rs 10 crore.
