Ankita Lokhande on her Bollywood career: "After doing a Jhalkari Bai in Manikarnika, I cannot do just anything"
Ankita Lokhande opened up about her career in Bollywood and why she's not been seen on the big screen more often after Manikarnika.
Ankita Lokhande will be seen next in the new season of Pavitra Rishta which will premiere soon on OTT. The actress who started her career playing Archana on the Zee TV show is back on home grounds with the web series but as a more evolved and experienced actor. Between the new Pavitra Rishta and the old one, Ankita has debuted in films with a big ticket film like Manikarnika headlined by Kangana Ranaut .
However, the actress has been a part of just two Bollywood films so far indicating that she’s rather picky about what she takes on. The newlywed Ankita was asked during an interview with Hindustan Times why people haven’t gotten to see more of her on the big screen and she jokingly said, "Because I was getting married.”
The actress did delve into the more serious reasons and said that she didn’t want to sign projects just for the heck of it. "I need my films, I cannot just do films for the sake of it. I want my films and want to play characters. The time has changed. After doing a Jhalkari Bai in Manikarnika, I cannot do just anything. I am waiting for that one film which will be mine. Throughout my career, I have been very choosy. I want to explore but in a good way. I do not want to be seen just like that. I am reading a few scripts. I want to do something different, maybe an action film. Something that I have never done. Something that shows me in a different light,” she told the publication.
Ankita married Vicky Jain in December 2021 and is now busy promoting Pavitra Rishta season 2. The actress did mention that nothing has changed about her life after marrying the businessman and added that Vicky has been rather supportive of her career and said that he pushes her to do more in her career.
