Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran has been a roaring success at the box office, turning out to be one of the biggest blockbusters from Kollywood and certainly this year’s Diwali winner. While many celebrities have been heaping praise on the film, its composer Anirudh Ravichander recently joined others in applauding the Rajkumar Periasamy directorial.

Taking to social media, the Devara composer expressed deep admiration for Sivakarthikeyan’s poignant performance and lavished praise on the film. He wrote, “#Amaran is cinema at its best. Proud of my @Siva_Kartikeyan more than ever. Heartfelt congrats and big ups to my brother @Rajkumar_KP and your whole technical team for creating this @ikamalhaasan sir, Mahendran sir, and Disney bro.”

However, fans noticed that Anirudh did not mention Sai Pallavi or GV Prakash Kumar in his appreciation post, further fueling rumors of a possible feud. While fans are uncertain about the omission of Sai Pallavi’s name, many speculate that there may be a reason behind leaving out GV Prakash Kumar from the post.

    A secret feud?

Some believe that GV Prakash’s earlier comments may have been critical of Anirudh’s style of music composition. For context, in a recent press meet, GV Prakash Kumar commented on the direction of contemporary music, urging composers to focus on artistic quality rather than creating dance numbers. He stated, “MSV, Ilaiyaraaja, and A.R. Rahman have given immense respect and value to Tamil cinema music. I sincerely request everyone to uphold this legacy without diminishing it. I urge upcoming composers to strive to preserve artistic quality and not just focus on producing dance numbers.”

Many fans interpreted GV Prakash’s comment as a subtle swipe at Anirudh, whose songs are often popular dance numbers on social media.

However, some fans believe that Anirudh may have simply forgotten to tag the composer and that the omission could have been an innocent oversight.

Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Amaran tells the real-life story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was martyred in Shopian in 2014. GV Prakash composed the original background score and soundtracks for the film.
