Animal Park: Sandeep Reddy Vanga to focus on Ranbir Kapoor's characters Ranvijay and Aziz, begins shoot in 2025
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal Park to go on floors in 2025. He is currently gearing up for Spirit with Prabhas.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal emerged as one of the highest grossing films of 2023. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri, the film sparked conversations about toxic masculinity, misogyny and violence. A sequel to the blockbuster film, Animal Park is in the works and the makers have promised a darker and more violent film. As per reports, the upcoming film will go on the floors in 2025.
A source close to the Vanga said that the Animal Park will go into the writing stage in February. The film will focus on Ranbir’s character Rannvijay and his lookalike Aziz. It will also see Rashmika’s character Geetanjali’s relationship with Rannvijay and his relationship with his son.For now, Vanga will shoot his cop thriller Spirit with Prabhas for next few months , along with developing the Animal Park script with his writing team.
“The idea is that while Sandeep shoots Spirit, he will take monthly updates on the script primarily being written by Pranay Vanga. He will actively work with the writers only in the second half of 2024,” the source told Mid-Day. The source further added that Ranbir will focus on the two big-ticket productions, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War till mid-2025. He will be able to work on Animal Park only next year.

Recently, Vanga described the sequel as “bigger and crazier.” Earlier, Ranbir stated that Vanga has a few scenes ready which are very exciting. He also added that Vanga has got the confidence and courage to go darker and complex with the sequel after the success of Animal.
Meanwhile, Animal revolves around a troublesome father-son relationship. The film, which was released on December 1 alongside Sam Bahadur, amassed Rs 546 crore in all its India versions in a 33-day run. It has emerged as the second highest grosser of 2023 after Jawan(Rs 643 crore).
