Animal: Anil Kapoor talks about Ranbir Kapoor; reveals what he thought of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh

The evergreen Anil Kapoor has never been one to shy away from experimenting on-screen. Proof of the same is his last release Jugjugg Jeeyo, which emerged as a blockbuster hit. Well, after winning hearts with comedy Anil is now all set to explore a new genre with his next film Animal , where he will be playing a grey character. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as his son along with National crush Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol , the gangster drama is being helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga .

As the team begins shooting in Delhi today, Anil gave a small hint about his character to Mid Day. He also revealed what he thought of the filmmaker’s last directorial Kabir Singh , which received mixed reviews from audiences. Anil was quoted saying, “All I can say is that it’s an unusual and interesting role. I was looking forward to working with Sandeep as I liked Kabir Singh [2019]. I liked the story that Sandeep narrated to me, and I was sure that I wanted to be part of the film.”

While Anil had worked with late superstar and his good friend Rishi Kapoor in films such as Gurudev and Karobaar, Animal marks his first project with latter’s son Ranbir. Well, Anil is delighted about working with Ranbir. Praising the Shamshera star, his on-screen father stated, “Ranbir is a talented, hard-working actor who can portray the finer nuances of every role effectively.”

Apart from Animal, Anil has films like Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and Bindra with his son Harshvarrdhan Kapoor in his kitty. We wish him only the best!
