Anees Bazmee claims he was 'misquoted' after citing reasons for rejecting Hera Pheri 3

Filmmaker Anees Bazmee has had to clarify his statement on rejecting the third instalment of Hera Pheri 3 after allegedly being misquoted for the reasons why he didn’t sign up for the project. The long awaited film being produced by Firoz Nadiadwala went on floors recently with all the three major stars, Paresh Rawal , Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty .

While earlier the cast of the movie was undecided after Akshay backed out from the film, Anees was reportedly helming the project. The filmmaker however, was quoted by a publication saying that Firoz Nadiadwala pitched him an idea of what Hera Pheri 3 will be all about and that he felt there was no story or script which led him to say no to the highly anticipated film.

“I met the producer Firoz Nadiadwala several times. He didn’t have much of a story let alone a script. Unhone jo mujhe idea bataya woh kuch jammee nahi (the idea he threw at me didn’t gel with me). Maina na keh diya (I said no),” Anees was quoted by Bollywood Hungama to have said.

Anees who delivered a big hit with Bhool Bhulaiya 2 last year, however, posted a tweet addressing the matter after the article was published and said that he was misquoted and that he wishes the Hera Pheri 3 team the very best.

“My words have been recently misquoted and wrongly interpreted regarding the announcement of Hera Pheri 3. I am very happy for the entire team of Hera Pheri for their third film together and I wish @akshaykumar @SunielVShetty @SirPareshRawal & #firoznadiadwala all the love & luck,” the filmmaker’s tweet read.

Hera Pheri 3, after years of waiting went on floors in Mumbai recently. A picture from the set with Akshay, Suniel and Paresh posing with filmmaker Farhad Samji went viral revealing that Anees Bazmee is no longer associated with the movie.
