Ananya Panday wanted to be like Kareena & Kajol while growing up; reveals why things changed after Gehraiyaan

Bollywood actor Ananya Panday , who began her journey with Student of the Year 2, has come a long way in her three year long career as an actor. After proving her versatility with films like Pati Patni Aur Woh and Khaali Peeli, she recently won hearts with her graceful and impactful performance in Shakun Batra ’s Gehraiyaan. Also starring Deepika Padukone , Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa , the domestic noir followed the theme of infidelity and complex relationships. Ananya, who portrayed the role of Tia, revealed that the film not only changed her as an actor but also a person.

Talking to ETimes about her journey, Ananya shared, “When I started out wanting to be an actor, I was so excited because I had grown up watching Kareena (Kapoor Khan) and Kajol on screen. I wanted to be exactly like them. I was so excited to sing and dance, perform and act. I just wanted to be on the big screen. I would just go with the flow and do everything that my directors would tell me. But a lot has changed with 'Gehraiyaan', I have tasted blood in a way. I want to continue doing more work like this.”

The star kid explained that during shoot, in between ‘action’ and ‘cut’, she experienced many magical moments which made her feel free and liberated. Ananya shared that she is craving for more of that now. Well, up next the actress will be seen in Puri Jagannadh’s Liger, opposite South superstar Vijay Deverakonda . She also has Kho Gaye Hum Kahan in the pipeline, alongside Siddhant and Adarsh Gourav, which is reportedly a coming of digital age story of three friends.
