Amid Ranbir Kapoor’s controversy, video of Vivek Agnihotri talking about eating beef goes viral; fans defend latter
Ranbir Kapoor is currently being trolled for expressing his love for beef in an old interview. Well, a clip of Vivek Agnihotri talking about eating beef has now resurfaced on social media.
Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor along with his wife Alia Bhatt was stopped from entering the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain recently. Members of the Bajrang Dal protested again them because in an old interview, Ranbir had stated that he likes eating beef. They believed that this was a derogatory statement for ‘gau mata’. A clip from the 2011 interview has now resurfaced on social media, with netizens brutally trolling the actor. Many have also decided to boycott his film Brahmastra , and are calling him ‘beef eater’.
Amid this controversy, a fan of the actor has now shared an old video of The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri talking about eating beef. In the clip, he admits he eats the particular red meat and also shares that he knows where one can get the best beef. Along with this video, the netizen tweeted: “They will never show you this video of @/vivekagnihotri who is a #beef eater too, and that's his personal choice. But it won't fit their narrative and agenda, But You guys stay away from those guys and keep booking tickets and enjoy #Brahmastra in theatres.”
Interestingly, while a few have decided to boycott the filmmaker, many are defending him. One tweet read: “He is changed now. Ranbir should also come and openly apologies to public”, while another fan wrote: “He already said he was influenced by cult before and accepted hindutav supremacy now.”
In his old interview, shot during the promotions of Rockstar, Ranbir had shared, “I'm not a big chicken guy. I feel that chicken is the soya food of non-vegetarians. I am a mutton, paya, and beef fan. Red meat! Yeah, I am a big beef guy.” Well, even though he is being trolled, some have come out in his support. Fans feel it is unfair to judge his personal choices and punish him for the same.
