Allu Arjun to donate Rs 25 lakh for landslide-hit Wayanad, says 'Kerala has given me so much love, I want to...'

    Actor Allu Arjun shared a post on social media, revealing that he will be donating Rs 25 lakh for the rehabilitation work of Wayanad in Kerala.

    After popular actor Mohanlal visited the landslide-hit Wayanad in Kerala and donated Rs 3 crore for the rehabilitation works of the disaster-hit region, actor Allu Arjun penned a note for the safety of Wayanad. The South star also revealed that he will be donating Rs 25 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund to support the rehabilitation work.

    Taking to Instagram, Allu Arjun shared a post stating that he will be donating Rs 25 lakh to support the rehabilitation work. He wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the recent landslide in Wayanad. Kerala has given me so much love, and I want to do my bit by donating 25 lakh rupees to the Kerala CM Relief Fund to support the rehabilitation work. Praying for your safety and strength.”

    He captioned the post, “Praying for the safety and strength of the people of Kerala.” His post caught the attention of his fans who praised his actions. One user wrote, “One of the best actor in the world. Respect for Allu Arjun sir,” while another wrote, “Allu arjun sir respect button.”

    For those unaware, multiple landslides occurred in the Wayanad district of Kerala on July 30. While the death toll has crossed 350, more than 200 people are missing.

    Mohanlal visits Wayanad district

    Earlier, popular actor Mohanlal, who is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, visited the disaster-hit region and donated Rs 3 crore for the rehabilitation work.

    Speaking about his visit, Mohanlal said the magnitude of the disaster can only be understood by witnessing it on-site. "The army, the navy, the air force, the NDRF, the Fire and Rescue, the other organisations, locals etc who all are part of the rescue operations have done a wonderful job," he said.

    Sharing the pictures of his visit on X, Mohanlal said that ViswaSanthi Foundation is pledging Rs 3 crore for immediate relief and rebuilding efforts. He also said that one of the commitments is the reconstruction of the LP school at Mundakkai.

    He concluded by saying that the efforts of the soldiers from his 122TA Madras battalion and the rescue teams were profoundly moving. He further said, “Their selfless dedication and the resilience of the community inspire hope. Together, we will rebuild, heal, and emerge stronger.”
