Before tying the knot on 14th April, actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were dating for five long years. In the five years, the two kept their personal life under wraps. They were spotted together every now and then but the couple never talked about their relationship openly. However, they did subtly declare their love for one another on various occasions. While Ranbir referred to Alia as his girlfriend in one interview, the actress often shared her love for her beau’s lucky number 8-- may it be her big gold ring or her phone cover.
Well, even on her D-Day Alia gave special importance to the number 8. She reportedly asked her mehendi artist to add the digit on the henna on her palm ahead of the wedding. That’s not all! Even Alia’s mangalsutra and kalire had a connection with Ranbir’s lucky number. While her kalire featured small 8’s, her mangalsutra had a teardrop diamond pendant with the infinity sign along with black beads on the golden chain. Alia’s huge diamond ring is another detail which left netizens gushing. Good job Ranbir!
In the official post announcing her wedding to her longtime beau, Alia had shared: “Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot - the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship - we got married. With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites..” Well, Alia and Ranbir’s wedding pictures have definitely filled many hearts with love!
