Alia Bhatt's brother confirms actress' wedding plans with Ranbir Kapoor, says he'll be the 'rakshak' during ceremonies

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor ’s wedding is all anyone can talk about at the moment. While fans of the couple have been left guessing about the wedding date, the actress’ brother Rahul Bhatt has confirmed that wedding is indeed happening.

In conversation with Bombay Times, Rahul Bhatt spoke about his relationship with Alia and confirmed that he would be attending the wedding. He told the publication, “Yes, the wedding is happening and I have been invited. I will be there for the ceremonies. However, I am not going to sing and dance. I am a gym instructor by profession and I will be there in the capacity of a bouncer (laughs!). I will be the rakshak at the wedding.”

While fans have seen Alia bond with sisters Shaheen and Pooja Bhatt over the years, spotting her with Rahul has been a rarity. He was asked if Alia ever discussed her relationships with him and he said that’s he is not that kind of a brother. He also joked that Alia was probably scared to talk to him about it since she knew he’d go and beat the guys up.

Rahul revealed he has not met Ranbir recently since he has been dating Alia but they used to meet as kids. He signed off approving of Alia’s choice to marry the actor.

Rahul Bhatt and Pooja Bhatt are filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt ’s kids from his first marriage with Kiran Bhatt. The filmmaker later married actress Soni Razdan and has two daughters with her Alia and Shaheen.

While Rahul Bhatt may have spilled the beans on Ranbir and Alia’s wedding, the Kapoor family is sill inclined to keep the wedding date and festivities a secret. The couple is all set to tie the knot at the RK House in Chembur, Mumbai according to several reports.
