Alia Bhatt says Jigra co-star Vedang Raina 'reminded her a lot of Ranveer Singh' on set; here's why

If at all there is one person who is ‘just about’ to enjoy the best of both the worlds, then, it is none other than the prolific filmmaker Karan Johar. And the reason for which he is all set to enjoy the best of both the worlds is because he has two big releases coming up. On one side is his favourite student Alia Bhatt and her most awaited film Jigra, and on the other side is the rockstar superstar of southern India NTR Jr and his to-be-released film Devara.

In a recent conversation between Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and NTR Jr, there were lots of gems which had got spilled out. Recalling the time when she was shooting for RRR, Alia said that she was very nervous and used to fumble a bit, but…. NTR Jr made her very comfortable. She added that filmmaker Ayan Mukerji (who is working with NTR Jr in War 2) calls him ‘Speedy Gonsalves’. She added that, as an actor, he (NTR Jr) was so unpredictable and that he expresses through his eyes immensely and was always bursting with energy. She added that they became very friendly and used to chat with each other.

When Karan Johar asked Alia if the maternal energy had ever impacted her anytime, the spunky actress said that when she signed Jigra, she was in her tigress mode and was like ‘no one comes near her’ mode.

She called Vedang fabulous and he doesn’t know how amazing he is. Hard working and also has some sort of prep. He also reminds me a lot about Ranveer Singh in a big way, which I had told him. Just the way he is as well. In addition to all this, he has his dedication and the focus to the moment and the shot. But, of course, he is his own person. And also, the fact that he sings so beautifully.

Vasan Bala and I also used to discuss that he (Vedang Raina) is an old soul, which kind of made me think, as I was thinking that I was the old soul, but he came across as someone like a 60-year-old and an old soul. His soul is very deep rooted and centred and that he has got a lot of depth within him, which, I think will really take him a long way.

And then the conversation steered towards Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s darling baby Raha. Alia Bhatt recalled that she was ‘fully pregnant’ during the press meet of RRR and was invited by NTR for dinner. And, when they were having dinner, that was the first time they were discussing possible baby names in front of everybody. While Ranbir said that, if it was a boy, then, what name and if it was a girl, then, what name and they all were raising their glasses.

That’s when NTR Jr chipped in saying, ‘We had names picked out and I wished it was Raha’.
