Akshay Kumar & Emraan Hashmi's Selfiee brings a superstar vs super fan concept but fans feel it's copied from SRK's Fan

Akshay Kumar took to his social media handle to share a short motion poster of his much-awaited film Selfiee with Emraan Hashmi . The actor revealed that the concept of the movie revolves around a superstar locking horns with his own Fan . However, no sooner did the poster was shared than some section of the netizens started to point out how the movie looks like a cheap rip-off of Shah Rukh Khan ’s Fan.

Talking about the same, the poster sees Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi giving a deadly stare at each other. Emraan can be seen sporting a police officer’s uniform which means that he will be playing a cop in the film. We see a huge poster of Akshay in the background who plays an actor in the same. Some fans of Akshay’s character can be seen having a face-off with the police officers.

Sharing some insight about the plot of Selfiee, Akshay wrote, “Fans make a star. Fans can also break a star! Find out what happens when a fan turns against his Idol. Watch #Selfiee in cinemas on Feb 24th.” Take a look at the same.

However, some netizens were quick to troll the Phir Hera Pheri actor stating that the plot of his film has been copied from Shah Rukh Khan’s 2016 movie Fan. For the unversed, Shah Rukh had a double role in the same wherein he played both a superstar as well as his crazy fan. A netizen wrote, “Kisiko Fan wali Feel aaha rahi hain?” while another user stated, “Plot toh SRK's ki movie fan ka copy kiya h hamare khilode Bhai ne esa lag rha.” A netizen further added, “ji kya aapne Srk ki FAN Movie se inspired hoke ye movie banaya hai?” The movie has been directed by Raj Mehta and will also star Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha.
