Ajith and Venkat Prabhu reunite for 'Mankatha' moment: New pic sparks cameo rumors!

    Ajith and Venkat Prabhu’s latest reunion in Azerbaijan has sparked a few rumours on the internet, here’s why!

    It's been over 13 years since Ajith and director Venkat Prabhu presented Kollywood with the critically acclaimed crime thriller Mankatha. But the movie still holds a special place in the hearts of Thala fans, who are awaiting yet another collaboration between the hit actor-director duo. Although a sophomore collaboration between them is not in the cards anytime soon, the superstar and director’s recent ‘Mankatha reunion’ in Azerbaijan has fuelled rumors!

    Recently, the director and actor were spotted together in Baku, Azerbaijan, where Ajith has been shooting the last schedule for his upcoming film Vidaamuyarchi. Director Venkat Prabhu, who was also at the same place, took to his social media handles to drop a surprise pic with Thala Ajith and captioned it, “And this happened……… bromance in Baku.”

    Mankatha, which released in 2011, marked Ajith’s 50th film in his career and went on to become one of the most iconic films upon its release. Interestingly, Ajith's co-stars for Vidaamuyarchi— Trisha and Arjun Sarja — had also starred in this 2011 blockbuster.  

    The now-viral pic has taken the internet by storm, with many fans speculating whether the actor will be making a cameo appearance in Vijay and Venkat Prabhu’s upcoming film The Greatest of All Time, while others speculate that the reunion might be for a potential new collaboration between the hit combo. Nonetheless, the new pic has fans jumping in excitement, who cannot wait to see them work on yet another project together soon! 

    Ajith resumes shooting the final leg of Vidaamuyarchi

    On the work front, Ajith, who has flown back to Azerbaijan, will be wrapping up shooting his last schedule for his long-delayed film Vidaamuyarchi. All the key actors, including Trisha and Arjun Sarja, are said to be part of this schedule. If everything goes as planned, fans can expect to see the Magizh Thirumeni directorial this Diwali season at cinemas. 

    On the other hand, Venkat Prabhu, who is gearing up for the release of his Vijay-starrer The Greatest of All Time, is currently working on the post-production of the film. The movie is scheduled to have a worldwide release on September 5, 2024.
