Ajay Devgn keen to cast Hrithik Roshan as antagonist in his new film? Here’s what we know

After having made a film on the historic ‘The Unsung Warrior’ in the form of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (which turned out to be a massive hit at the box office), Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn has always been wanting to forward the franchise on the unsung heroes of India. But, because of his commitments to other projects, he could not take the dream project ahead. Ditto with the film’s director Om Raut.

But now it seems that, after a gap of four years, in all possibilities, the winning duo of Ajay Devgn and Om Raut is now all set to come again for the second instalment of the said project, as per a source-based report in Mid Day. And guess what! The same report added that Ajay Devgn is now keen to sign up none other than the Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan for an extremely important role in the historical drama.

The same report added that both Ajay Devgn and Om Raut have had a couple of meetings at the former’s office in order to devise a methodology to take forward the franchise of Unsung Warriors. The report further added that, during the initial stages, Ajay Devgn and Om Raut were very keen to have the story plot of their film revolving around the central character of Baji Prabhu Deshpande and his illustrious life.

For the unversed, Baji Prabhu Deshpande happens to be a 17th century General of the Maratha Army. As per the source in the said article, it has been stated that, the brave-heart (while referring to Baji Prabhu Deshpande), was known for his role in the Battle of Pavan Khind, which had taken place in 1660, wherein one saw him sacrificing his life to defend Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

But, since the Marathi film Pawankhind also had a similar premise, they chose to drop the same. And, that’s why, the duo of Ajay Devgn and Om Raut are now deciding whether to have the same story told… but, on a grander scale or else… secondly, choose another hero from the Maratha kingdom.
