Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's intro as Nandini in Ponniyin Selvan trailer gives netizens goosebumps, but few wonder what happened to her face

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ’s comeback with Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan has got netizens into a tizzy. Watching the gorgeous actress in the role of queen Nandini, who seeks vengeance, in the recently released trailer gave them goosebumps. However, her presence at the trailer launch on Tuesday also made few wonder if she has done something to her face as it looked different.

Soon after the trailer dropped, netizens flocked to express their excitement on Twitter and lauded Aishwarya as the highlight of the upcoming period drama. While one user wrote, “ Queen is back”, another commented, “NANDINI..This name is made just for her only..She is back on big screen with her iconic name, undoubtedly superb acting, expressions & beauty..” “Beyond expectations, mainly #AishwaryaRaiBachchan intro as Nandhini literally i got goosebumps, overall trailer was perfect perfect perfect,” added another.

While a few were left in state of utter shock when they saw Aishwarya’s face at the trailer launch event in Chennai. The actress wore a black salwar suit with her hair untied and finished her look with a bindi. She looked breathtakingly beautiful, but to some people her face seemed quite weird. “Did #AishwaryaRaiBachchan do something to her face ? Why’d she hide earlier with a huge mask and run from media ? Her face doesn’t look right” one of the netizens asked. While another declared she used botox saying “Whole world appreciate ur beauty.. what else u need why this stupid decision… gracefully age accept karne main kya jata hai..Why these Botox, fillers & surgeries etc.”

Meanwhile, Aishwarya was last seen in the 2018 film Fanney Khan co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Anil Kapoor. With Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan, she is set to make her pan-India presence . The upcoming film marks her fourth collaboration with the ace filmmaker after 1997 Iruvar, 2007 Guru, and 2010 Raavan. The epic drama boasts of ensemble cast including

Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, and Vikram Prabhu among others. Produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, it is set to arrive in theatres on September 30.
