After Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, Salman Khan waives fee for Chiranjeevi's Godfather
Salman Khan who is known for his generosity and thoughfulness as a friend is said to have refused his remuneration for his Telugu debut Godfather.
Salman Khan is one of the busiest stars in Bollywood and busy hopping from the sets of onebig film to the next. The Bollywood superstar will be making his debut in Telugu films soon with actor Chiranjeevi’s Godfather. The actor has an extended cameo in the film and reportedly has refused the Rs. 20 crores remuneration he was being offered for the film.
The Telugu superstar announced his collaboration for Godfather with Salman on social media sending ripples of excitement among fans. Salman apparently has been a big fan of Chiranjeevi since he was a teenager and working with the star would certainly be more of dream come true for the Bollywood actor than a job.
Salman apparently turned down the Rs. 15 to 20 crores remuneration for Godfather for his 20 minute cameo in the movie according to a Bollywood Hungama report. A source from the sets of the film claimed Salman told Chiranjeevi, “If I was to ask you to do a role in my film would you charge for it?”
The actor’s gesture of not charging for Godfather apparently left Chiranjeevi moved and speechless. The actor is busy wrapping up the project in Hyderabad before moving on to Kabhi EId Kabhi Diwali for which he begins shoot in Mumbai in April.
Godfather isn’t the first film Salman Khan has refused remuneration for recently. The actor is also said to have waived his fees for a cameo in Shah Rukh khan’s upcoming action entertainer Pathaan for which he shot last year. The actor’s crossover cameo as Tiger in the film has been one of the biggest talking points for fans. Salman will reportedly make an appearance in the thrilling climax of the film.
While Pathaan has fixed Republic Day 2023 for arrival, Salman’s Tiger 3 which is in the final stages of production has locked Eid 2023 for release in cinemas.
