After Liger failure and fallout with Puri Jagannadh, Vijay Deverakonda reunites with Karan Johar for a romantic film
After the Liger debacle, Karan and Vijay are geared for another project together which will be an out-and-out love story according to Bollywood Hungama reports.
After the Liger debacle, it was reported that Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagannadh ’s second film entitled in Telugu Jana Gana Mana has been called off. Following which it was said that a major fallout has crept in between them and now if the sources are to be believe the news is confirmed. However, the camaraderie between Vijay and Karan Johar is intact and soon they are going to team up for a romantic film as per reports.
For those unaware, Liger directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar that marked Vijay’s Bollywood debut tanked at the box office. The film revolves around an underdog MMA fighter played by Vijay co-starring Ananya Panday, Ramya Krishnan, and Ronit Roy. International fighter Mike Tyson also made a special appearance in the movie. But poor screenplay failed to pull the audience to the theatres and the big-budgeted film incurred losses according to trade analysts.
Well, after the disastrous experience, Vijay and Puri’s next film was reportedly shelved which was supposed to feature Pooja Hegde. According to Etimes, sourced from Hyderabad told, “Vijay is not doing the film. The bromance is over. Vijay is not even taking Puri’s calls any more.” The source also said that there was an understanding between the two regarding the payment. “Vijay was supposed to get a part of his payment after the film’s release. Now Puri is in no position to complete his payment agreement,” added the source. On the other hand, Karan and Vijay are geared for another project together which will be an out-and-out love story according to Bollywood Hungama reports.
Meanwhile, Vijay is currently focused on his upcoming project titled Kushi co-starring Samantha Prabhu Directed by Shiva Nirvana, Kushi will release in cinemas on December 23 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Going by the poster, it looks like a love story set against the backdrop of Kashmir.
