'Absolutely riveted & shook by Afwaah': Swara Bhasker reviews Bhumi-Nawazuddin starrer; Twitterati call film 'important and relevant'

Bhumi Pednekar and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Afwaah finally released today(May 5) and actress Swara Bhasker is all praises for the movie. Taking to her Twitter handle, the actress called the political thriller a ‘must watch’ and also hailed the director Sudhir Mishra. “Absolutely riveted & shook by #Afwaah ! No one does politics, drama, thriller, society & human complexity like @IAmSudhirMishra sir! And always feisty female characters #Afwaah is the political thriller of and for our times! Cinema at its best! MUST WATCH! Stellar performances by @Nawazuddin_S @bhumipednekar @vyas_sumeet @sharibhashmi Kudos @anubhavsinha sir for making what you make.. Sudhir sir!!! Afwaah revolves around an advertising professional and a political heiress whose lives turn upside down by a viral social media rumour. The film also stars Sumeet Vyas and Sharib Hashmi in pivotal roles. Not only Swara, but Twitterati have also dropped positive reviews on the micro-blogging site after watching the movie. While one user wrote, “Take a bow @IAmSudhirMishra and @anubhavsinha for #Afwaah …a sucker-punch of a film about our life and times, and our social media reality! Backed by Anubhav Sinha and Bhushan Kumar, the film has been released on limited screens. Some Twitter users have also expressed disappointment about the limited shows in theatres. One user wrote, “@anubhavsinha sir can't find good show timings for #Afwaah. one show in the morning and one in the night or single show in many theatres. These timings will kill the movie and good content.” Another added, “@IAmSudhirMishra sir where to watch #Afwaah , it is not released in my near by thetares and on the other hand it is released in far by thetares which is little costly for me ... But I wish to watch it.”
