Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai's anniversary: Here's an interesting story about couple's first meet

Back on April 20, 2007, Bollywood’s most loved couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai had tied the knot in an intimate yet grand ceremony in Mumbai. Since then the couple has been giving major relationship goals while they are enjoying their marital bliss for 15-long-years. Today, as the power couple celebrates their wedding anniversary, we recalled the time when Abhishek revealed how he was in awe of Aishwarya ever since he had met her for the first time in Switzerland.

It was during the Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast when Abhishek candidly spoke about her relationship with Aishwarya and disclosed that he first met her in the European country while he was doing a recce for one of his father Amitabh Bachchan ’s films.

The Dasvi actor had revealed that Aishwarya was shooting with actor Bobby Deol for their 1997 film Aur Pyar Ho Gaya while he was a production boy in his father’s 1997 film Mrityudata in Switzerland. “I first met her when I was a production boy. There was a film my father was making called Mrityudata, and I had gone for the location recce to Switzerland because the company felt that because I had grown up in Switzerland in boarding school that I would be able to take them to nice locations,” he had said.

Further, Abhishek said that Bobby, who was his childhood friend, had invited him over for dinner and that’s where he met Aishwarya. “I had been there for a couple of days, all alone. And that’s when a childhood friend of mine, Bobby Deol, was shooting for his first film — Aur Pyar Ho Gaya. And he got to know I was there and said ‘Hey, why don’t you come over for dinner?’ And that’s the first time, when they were shooting, when I met Aishwarya,” said the actor adding that he had a crush on her, “Who doesn’t crush on her? I mean, come on, come on.”

However, it was in 1999 when Abhishek and Aishwarya officially met for the first time for a photoshoot of their first film together, Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke (2000). They remained friends after the film's release. Then the two collaborated again for Ramesh Sippy’s film Kuch Naa Kaho in 2003. They finally fell in love when they shot J.P Dutta’s Umrao Jaan . Rest is history. The couple now has a daughter named Aaradhya Bachchan.
