Being the child of a star actor brings along with it the immense pressure to deliver. And when you are a child of a superstar who is also known as ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ in whatever he does, then, the pressure to deliver increases furthermore. We are indeed talking about Junaid Khan, the son of Aamir Khan. After all the back and forth, it's finally now decided and confirmed that Junaid Khan will be making his debut in showbiz with an OTT project. The said project is a full-length feature film titled Maharaj.
As per a source-based news piece in Pinkvilla, it has now been reported that Junaid Khan’s debut film Maharaj will be premiered on Netflix. Not just that, the said news report also threw light on the release date of Maharaj. As per the report, the Junaid Khan starrer Maharaj will be premiered on June 14, 2024. As per the reports, the premise of Maharaj has been ‘set against the backdrop of the 1862 Maharaja Libel Case’.
The same report stated that, besides the fact that Yash Raj Films (YRF) and Aditya Chopra have in the content of Maharaj, and the belief that Netflix would push the film further to a global audience, there is also a crisp marketing campaign which has been devised for the release of Maharaj. And, as far as the trailer of the film is concerned, it will be released around June 5, which makes it follow a 9-day gap before the film’s grand gala release on Netflix.
As for the film Maharaj, it is being directed by Siddharth P Malhotra. For the unversed, Siddharth P Malhotra is the same film maker who had earlier directed the extremely well received and critically acclaimed Rani Mukerji film Hichki.
Besides Junaid Khan, the film Maharaj also stars Sharvari, Jaideep Ahlawata, and Shalini Pandey in all important roles.
