It seems like Aamir Khan ’s troubled phase is far from over. After the failure of his ambitious project Laal Singh Chaddha , the actor has now lost yet another big movie of his which was none other than the Gulshan Kumar biopic which was titled, Mogul. Rumours are now doing the rounds that after the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha, the makers of Mogul have indefinitely shelved the project.
The movie was supposed to be produced by the late Gulshan Kumar’s son Bhushan Kumar under their banner T-Series. The same was to be directed by Subhash Kapoor who has now decided to shelve the film and start working on his next Jolly LLB 3. This is nothing less than a huge blow for Aamir Khan who was about to star as the music mogul in the movie. The film was supposed to trace Gulshan Kumar’s journey to becoming one of the most successful music label owners in the film industry.
According to sources, "
The movie was initially supposed to star Akshay Kumar in the lead role. The makers had also released the first poster of Mogul way back in 2017 with Akshay’s silhouette in the same, stating that it will be released in 2018. However, it seems that the project had some sort of bad jinx on it since Akshay soon went on to leave the movie owing to reportedly creative differences with the makers. The makers then went on to approach comedian Kapil Sharma and Badlapur actor Varun Dhawan but they also went on to turn down the offer.
Aamir Khan soon after showcased some interest in Mogul and agreed to produce and star in it. According to some reports, the megastar was supposed to start working on the project after the release of Laal Singh Chaddha. But after witnessing the disastrous failure of the Forrest Gump remake, it seems that the producers of the film have decided to shelve it indefinitely.
