Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan to make a comeback as a director 7 years after quitting acting?
The actor was last seen in Nikkhil Advani’s romantic comedy drama Katti Batti, alongside Kangana Ranaut in 2015.
Superstar Aamir Khan ’s nephew Imran Khan is likely to return to the film industry as a director. The actor had quit acting back in 2015 and ever since maintained a distance from Bollywood for almost seven years now.
As per reports, the Delhi Belly actor is reportedly working on a script for his first feature film which he will in 2023. “Direction was what Imran wanted to do. He never wanted to be an actor. He is now working on the script of his first directorial,” revealed a source close to Bollywood Hungama .

When asked if he will be acting in his own film, the source added, “Most definitely not. Imran has no interest in acting. He always wanted to direct a film. And that’s what he will do now.” The actor was last seen in Nikkhil Advani’s romantic comedy drama Katti Batti , alongside Kangana Ranaut in 2015.
Imran made his acting debut with Abbas Tyrewala’s 2008 film, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na , alongside Genelia D’Souza. Since then, he worked in several films like Delhi Belly, Break Ke Baad , Luck, I Hate Luv Storys , Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan , and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai among others. Though he worked for a brief period, he was considered successful in his innings as an actor.
Meanwhile, Imraan did not make any official announcement of quitting acting. Back in 2020, Imran’s close friend Akshay Oberoi revealed that he has left acting for a moment, However, he did give hints about his love for writing and filming. “Imran Khan has left acting at the moment. As far as I know, there is a better writer and director inside Imran, I do not know when he will direct his film himself, I am not going to put any pressure, but as a friend, I think so he will direct his film soon.” his friend told Navbharat Times.
