Aamir Khan talks to Vinesh Phogat over video call; fans speculate about Dangal 2.0 in making

    Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has made history by becoming the first Indian female wrestler to enter the Olympic final. The athlete who was disqualified from fighting her final bout for being overweight came back to India a few weeks ago, receiving praise from citizens and celebrities alike. Now, Dangal actor Aamir Khan talked to Vinesh over a video call and appreciated her fighting spirit, making fans wonder if Dangal 2.0 is in making.

    A fan page of Aamir Khan took to social media and shared pictures of Aamir talking to Vinesh over a video call. The caption said, "Good touch from Aamir Khan. Over a video call, he congratulated Vinesh Phogat for her stupendous fight in Paris. Reminded her that her three fights were proof of her champion mentality. Former wrestler Kripa Shankar (also in the pic), who was the mentor for the actors of Dangal." 

    Aamir Khan was part of a sports drama film titled Dangal, playing Mahavir Singh Phogat. The film centered around the life of Mahavir and how he trained his two daughters, Geeta and Babita Phogat to become international wrestlers. 

    Dangal 2.0 in making?

    The pictures were shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), making fans wonder if Dangal 2.0 is in the making. Reacting to the pictures, one user wrote, “Ek film banane wali hai,” while another wrote, “Dangal 2 is on its way!” 

    Dangal 2.0 could be centered around the life of wrestler Vinesh Phogat and her participation in protests against the government and her recent struggle at the Paris Olympics 2024. After being disqualified for being overweight, Vinesh announced her retirement from wrestling on social media.  

    Aamir on the other hand is working on his upcoming film Sitare Zameen Par, alongside actress Genelia D’Souza. The actor was last seen in 2022 released film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is an Indian adaptation of the popular Hollywood film Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks. Laal Singh Chaddha also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, Naga Chaitanya among others.
