After a massive boycott outrage against his last film Laal Singh Chaddha , Aamir Khan seems to be in trouble again. This time the reason being his recent advertisement for a bank. Netizens have been trending ‘Aamir Khan insults Hindu Dharma’ on Twitter expressing their anger against the ad that also stars actress Kiara Advani .
Talking about the same, the bank advertisement has Aamir Khan and Kiara Advani playing newlyweds and shows the groom entering the house first. This is contrary to the Hindu tradition wherein the new bride is supposed to enter the home first. Aamir’s voice-over can also be heard that speaks about bringing a change to the usual way of doing things.
Well, it seems that the netizens weren’t amused by the message that the advertisement was trying to give. Instead, they accused Aamir Khan of allegedly trying to hurt the Hindu traditions and rituals. Take a look at some of the tweets.
One of the netizens stated, “Needless to say, this isn’t the first time that brands have targeted a Hindu ritual for their marketing campaign” while another user said, “IT HAS BECOME THE NORM 4 THE KHAN GANG TO INSULT HINDU DHARMA. THIS CROOK NEEDS TO BE BOYCOTTED ON EVERY PLATFORM POSSIBLE.” Another netizen went on to say, “I just fail to understand since when AU Bank have become responsible for changing social & religious traditions.” A user added, “This is not a new thing for Aamir Khan but during Laal Singh Chaddha a lesson was taught to him. But now he did it again for money. Don't boycott actors boycott the company so that no other company may give them offer.”
Aamir Khan bore the brunt of the Boycott Bollywood brigade the hardest this year. His film Laal Singh Chaddha was extensively trended to be boycotted by the netizens. This affected the box office collections of the film and it turned out to be a flop.
