Ranveer Singh in Don 3
Farhan Akhtar had earlier today revealed the logo of the much-awaited third film of his Don franchise. Now, the director-producer shared a statement wherein he officially announces the beginning of a new era wherein Ranveer Singh will step into the shoes of the slick and notorious gangster carrying forward the legacy of Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. Even though Farhan did not mention Ranveer’s hint, he dropped a clear hint that the actor is the new Don indeed.
He shared a post wherein he wrote, “In 1978, a character created by Salim Javed and portrayed by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan with effortless elan captured the imagination of the theatergoers across the country. The enigmatic character was Don. In 2006, Don was reimagined and bought to life by Shah Rukh Khan in his own irresistibly charming way. From Don’s sardonic wit to his cool but menacing fury, Shah Rukh Khan embodied his persona. As a writer and director, I had a great time creating not one but two Don films with Shah Rukh and both experiences remain extremely close to my heart. The time has come to take the legacy of Don forward and joining us in this new interpretation will be an actor whose talent and versatility I have long admired. We hope you will show him the love you have so graciously and generously shown to Mr. Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. A new era of Don begins in 2025. Watch this space.” Take a look at the post.
The director’s sister Zoya Akhtar and wife Shibani Dandekar showered some love in the post. Other celebs like Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor and Rohit Roy also expressed their excitement for Don 3. However, some fans of Shah Rukh Khan were left upset with the superstar not reprising his role. Now, all eyes are on Ranveer Singh’s first look from the movie.
