    Any award is always a recognition for the immense hard work, the sweat and the grease that an artist undergoes. And, if that award happens to be a national award, there is no second to that. Well… in the just concluded 70th National Film Awards, one saw an array of winners… well deserved winners who walked away with not just the prestigious awards, but also the audiences appreciation for their craft and the ‘art-felt’ recognition from the jury members.

    This year’s 70th National Film Awards saw many winners. Let’s see what the winners had to say after winning the prestigious awards. After receiving the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award from the hands of Indian President Draupadi Murmu, the veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty said “Jitni takleefein utaai hai, Bhagwaan ne sooth sameth waapas kar diya”.

    The well known Music director Pritam was also one of the proud recipients of the prestigious awards. He said, “I am feeling very good. My mom and my wife are with me today and they are very excited”.

    On the other hand, there was the hit southern filmmaker Rishabh Shetty who win the award for his cult film Kantara. He said, "I feel extremely proud and glad to have received the National Award as it gives recognition to the Kannada film industry. It gives motivation to the upcoming generations of actors and filmmakers of the regional film industries of India, and they feel charged up to perform better in pursuit of national recognition".

    He added, “For me and my contemporaries, it allows us to push the envelope as getting a National Award is a huge responsibility as much as it is an honour. It gives us the responsibility to strive hard and chase excellence”.

    Then, there was the very beautiful Manasi Parekh, who had won the award for best Supporting Actress. After receiving the award, she became very emotional and said, “It’s the blessings of Devi that I am the first Gujrati actress in 70 years to win a National Award”.

    There also was the prolific filmmaker Ayaan Mukerji, who had got the award for his film Brahmastra. After receiving the award, he said, “It feels wonderful when you receive an award and I am very glad that the journey has led us here”.

    Amidst all the winners, was the doyen of filmmaking Mani Ratnam, who bagged the prestigious award for his film Ponniyan Selvam. After receiving the award, he said, “I am glad I got it and I am glad that it got recognized and I am getting a National award for it”. The versatile actor Pawan Malhotra, who, after receiving the award for Best Supporting Actor for his film Fouja, said that when the President of India felicitates you, the feeling tis totally different!
