    In a shocking turn of events, actor Akhil Mishra, known for playing librarian Dubey in 3 Idiots, passed away at the age of 67. Reportedly, the actor slipped in the kitchen while his wife-actor Suzanne Bernert was away in Hyderabad for a shoot.

    According to reports, the actor died in an out-of-the-ordinary kind of accident. He hit his head after falling from a stool in his kitchen when there was nobody at home. The news of his death was confirmed by Suzzane, who rushed home after learning about the unfortunate incident. She also revealed that the actor had an internal haemorrhage and there was a lot of blood loss due to which doctors could not save him. The postmortem was done after which the last rites were performed.

    Suzzane told Etimes that Akhil was taking her name when taken to the hospital. “'I love Suzanne and I don't want to go to the hospital.” He also revealed about Akhil’s recent hospitalisation for high blood pressure. "He was hospitalised last month for high blood pressure. He was feeling better over the last few days and was taking proper medication too. He was also doing physiotherapy and things seemed fine.” Suzzane also expressed her sorrow, “Akhil was my soulmate, my better half. He was everything to me being my guru to a protective father figure. I don’t know what I will do without him, I feel lost. My heart is broken, my better half is gone,” she said.

    Meanwhile, Akhil worked in many films besides 3 Idiots. He was part of Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Shikhar, Kareeb, Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain, Don, and Gandhi My Father among others. In television, he featured in serials like Uttaran, Udaan, Bhanwar, Shrimaan Shrimati and Grihalakshmi Ka Jinn to name a few. He also directed a short movie titled Majnu Ki Juliet.
