It was the day and date of 4 July 2008 when the silver screens of Bollywood saw the bubble gum romance in the form of two mint fresh talented actors viz., Imran Khan to Genelia Dsouza. The film was Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. Gradually, the film went on to become an anthem of sorts for that generation.

Today, as we stand on 4 July 2024, the film clocks 16 years of its release. As a tribute to the film celebrating its sixteenth year, the star cast of the film came together and recreated the iconic track from the film titled, ‘Tera mujhse hai pehle ka naata koi…’

The awesome post featured the likes of (grown-up) Imran Khan (Jai Singh Rathore aka Ratz), Genelia Dsouza (Aditi Mahant aka Meow), Nirav Mehta (Jignesh Patel aka Jiggy), Manjari Fadnnis (Meghna Pariyar), Sugandha Garg (Shaleen Verma) and others. The icing however, was in the form of Murali Sharma (who played the memorable role of CISF Inspector Prakash Suman) in the film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na.

After the gang of the lead stars sang the track, there comes the veteran actor Murali Sharma, who ‘warns’ them (jokingly) all saying, “Phir se yee gaana gaaya toh goli maar doonga”. (If you guys ever sing the track again, I will shoot you all). As a reply, there was Imran Khan, who played the iconic role of Jai Singh Rathore aka Ratz, who said, “Sorry Sir…. Solah saal ho gaye…ek baar toh banta hai”.(Sorry sir, it’s been sixteen years, at least, we need to sing it once!).

No sooner had the post been uploaded, there were many who started demanding the sequel of the film. While one user wrote, ‘What is stopping you guys from making a sequel is beyond me’! There was another user who wrote, ‘Waapis aajao sab ab bohot ho gaya. Pls re-release this one!!! "Roo math yaar!" My teenage fav movie! Still watching! Lots of love from srilanka! It will be BEAUTIFUL to see it again on the big screen!!! Another user wrote, Literally how TIME Flies. Need a sequel. This has made my day! @abbas.tyrewala We want such more writings from you sir..! This is the future mannnnnn’

As for the film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, it was directed by Abbas Tyrewala and produced by Mansoor Khan and Aamir Khan under Aamir Khan Productions, with Ajay K. Bijli and Sanjeev K. Bijli of PVR Pictures serving as co-producers.
