120 Bahadur: Farhan Akhtar announces war-drama based on Rezang La battle; Don 3 actor Ranveer Singh reacts

Even though Farhan Akhtar was not to be seen on the silver screen for sometime now, he made a ‘brief appearance’ as himself in the extremely appreciated docu series Angry Young men, which featured the legendary duo of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. Farhan was seen in the capacity of being the legendary Javed Akhtar’s son.

This time round, Farhan Akhtar will be seen in the much-anticipated film that has been based on the historic life of Maj Shaitan Singh PVC and also the soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment. The first look of the film was shared by Farhan Akhtar on social media.

On his part, Farhan Akhtar wrote, ‘What they accomplished will never be forgotten. It is an absolute privilege to bring you the story of Maj Shaitan Singh PVC and the soldiers of Charlie company, 13 Kumaon regiment’. This military action film, set against the backdrop of the 1962 Indo-China war, draws inspiration from the Battle of Rezang La, where our men in uniform displayed unparalleled courage, heroism, and sacrifice.

He added, ‘Famously known as the Battle of Rezang La, fought on the 18th of November 1962 during the Indo-China war, it is a story of remarkable courage, heroism and selflessness shown by our men in uniform against all odds’.

He also stated, ‘We are grateful to the Indian Army for their support in bringing this incredible tale of valour to the screen. We embark today to make this film in all humility and with utmost respect to those we represent’.

Knowing Farhan Akhtar’s penchant for perfection and his ability to deep dive into the skin of the character that he is playing, many of his fans and followers were super excited to see Farhan Akhtar in the aforementioned role. In no time of his posting the film’s poster, there were many comments from the fans and followers on social media who were incessantly praising the actor.

Prominent amongst them was Ranveer Singh who took to the comments section and as a symbol of encouragement, he posted a few symbols. Farhan’s wife Shibani Akhtar also wrote, ‘Cannot wait for this one good luck to the entire team’.

Another user wrote, ‘Farhan is now back in the Himalayas, the very place that he had chosen for Hrithik Roshan starrer Lakshya. We are sure that 120 Bahadur will surely escalate Farhan to where he rightly belongs- the top!’ There was also another user who wrote, ‘This is going to be the biggest hit of the year. Love for all the Bahadur of our country and the team. What a proud moment to be honest to be there at Rezang-la two weeks ago during 15th august and we were told about Mr. Shaitan Singh’.

As for the film 120 Bahadur, besides Farhan Akhtar, the details of the other actors have been kept under the wraps. The film has been directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai.
