Zwigato to Bheed: Here are most underrated films of 2023 which deserved more attention

2023 was one fruitful year for Indian cinema. Some films turned out to be blockbusters and garnered a lot of noise. However, some movies failed to get the attention they deserved despite critical acclaim. Take a look at some of these movies.

Zwigato

Kapil Sharma’s transition from the King Of Comedy to a struggling food delivery guy who has to make ends meet for his family was riveting to the core. The movie was helmed by Nandita Das.

Bheed

 This social drama was set against the backdrop of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic and narrated the tale of people migrating to safer locations with great obstacles. It starred Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles.

Iratta

This Malayalam film starred Joju George in dual roles. The engaging crime thriller flick needed more attention.

Kuttey

The dark thriller comedy had an ensemble cast of Naseeruddin Shah, Tabu, Arjun Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Konkona Sen Sharma, and more. This Vishal Bharadwaj directorial received positive reviews from critics due to the gritty plot and performances but failed at the box office.

Virupaksha

The Telugu horror flick was helmed by Karthik Varma Dandu. It starred Sai Dharam Tej and Samyukta in the lead roles. The gripping plot and intense performances deserved more love.

Faraaz

 The movie was based on the 2016 attack on the Holey Artisan Bakery in Bangladesh. It starred Zahan Kapoor, Aamir Ali, Juhi Babbar, and others in the lead roles.

Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai

The movie revolves around the relentless struggle of a lawyer played by Manoj Bajpayee to bring justice to a minor. It was helmed by Apoorv Singh Karki.

Kathal

The film was a satirical comedy on our government system and was lauded for its unique plot and honest performances. It starred Sanya Malhotra in the lead role.

Bommai

This romantic Tamil film starred SJ Suryah and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The plot revolves around a man who falls in love with a mannequin.

2018

The Malayalam film was a compelling story of the 2018 Kerala floods which had caused a huge rampage in the state. It starred Tovino Thomas in the lead role.
