Malayalam actor Jayasurya celebrated his 46th birthday under a cloud of serious allegations, raising significant questions about his conduct as one of the leading stars of the Malayalam film industry. While thanking his supporters for their wishes and support, he finally spoke out regarding the allegations of sexual misconduct made by two actresses.
"Due to my personal commitments, my family and I have been in America for the past month, and during this time, two false allegations on the grounds of sexual harassment were made against me. Quite naturally, it has shattered me, my family, and everyone who has held me close," Jayasurya said.

Two non-bailable cases have been filed against Jayasurya in Kerala based on the complaints made by the actresses in question. While the identity of one complainant remains unclear, actress Minu Muneer was the first to accuse Jayasurya of groping and misbehaving with her many years ago on a film set.
In response to the allegations, Jayasurya made it clear that he intends to fight back through legal channels. "I have decided to move forward with this legally. My legal team will be looking after the rest of the proceedings regarding this case. False allegations are easy to make for anyone who lacks a conscience. I only hope one realizes that facing a false accusation of harassment is just as painful as the harassment itself," he claimed.
"A lie always travels faster than the truth, but I believe the truth will prevail," he added. While expressing his faith in the judicial system, he reassured his supporters that he would continue to fight to clear his name. "I will be back as soon as I finish my work here. All the legal proceedings to prove my innocence will continue. I have complete faith in our judicial system."
In the wake of the Hema Committee report, several women have come forward with their stories of sexual harassment in the Malayalam film industry. The report has sent shockwaves across the country, sparking widespread demand for systematic change to address and curb the menace of power abuse and sexual exploitation in show business.
