When Liger was first announced, movie lovers were over the moon with joy. Apart from being Vijay Deverakonda’s Bollywood debut and Ananya Panday’s first pan-India film, it was the suspense around the project that left us all with super high expectations from the Puri Jagannadh directorial. Sadly Liger failed miserably and ended up being a box office bomb. Vijay’s performance was still appreciated by the audience, but Ananya was trolled all over social media. Despite having an extended cameo by Mike Tyson, Liger turned out to be a complete disappointment for many.
So many loyal fans are now eagerly waiting for South superstar Vijay’s next release, hoping he would redeem himself after Liger’s failure. Well, recently the actor arrived at an event as the chief guest and spoke about the same. He had a savage reply to fans asking for his comeback. In a special speech which made the audience go crazy with joy, Vijay stated, “Wherever I go, fans keep saying, anna, you have to give a comeback. I wanted to tell you, I didn’t go anywhere.” Take a look:

Netizens are divided after this speech. While some are asking him to tone down the overconfidence, others are lauding him for standing tall. Post Liger’s release and a hectic promotional spree with co-star Ananya, Vijay is now busy shooting for his next. He will be sharing the silver screen with South sensation Samantha Ruth Prabhu in an upcoming film titled Kushi. Written and directed by filmmaker Shiva Nirvana, the romantic comedy will arrive in theatres on 23rd December this year, on the occasion of Christmas. Apart from Kushi, Vijay also has Jana Gana Mana in his kitty. The military action film, which reportedly stars Janhvi Kapoor and Pooja Hegde, will mark his reunion with Liger director Jagannadh.
