After much anticipation, the eagerly awaited sequel Viduthalai Part 2 is finally set to make its grand theatrical debut tomorrow, December 20. Ahead of the highly anticipated release, filmmaker Vetrimaaran shared insights into the journey of filming the project and provided more details about the movie.
In a new video shared by the makers, the director reflects on the challenges and the valuable learning experiences garnered by the team during the shoot. He described the film as an extensive yet exhausting piece of work he has crafted so far.

The ace filmmaker said, “The work for Viduthalai Part 2 has finally concluded. It’s an extensive and exhausting piece of work. We have reduced around 8 minutes of the film before its release. It has been a great learning experience for everyone involved in the film. It has truly been a huge journey so far, and all thanks to the contributions of so many people who worked on the making of the film. I would also like to thank the people who support such a film. Although the result will be judged by the audience, all we can say is that a lot of effort has been put into the film. Thank you.”
Leading man Vijay Sethupathi, who shared the video, thanked the filmmaker in the caption, writing: “Thank you #VetriMaaran sir for everything ❤️ #ViduthalaiPart2 from tomorrow in theatres.”
Viduthalai Part 2 censoring completed
The Vijay Sethupathi and Soori starrer Viduthalai Part 2 recently completed its censor formalities and received an A certificate with a runtime of 172 minutes (2 hours and 52 minutes). Compared to the first part, this sequel is just 2 minutes longer. As per the filmmaker, 8 minutes of the film was trimmed before its theatrical debut.
About Viduthalai Part 2
Directed by Vetrimaaran, Viduthalai Part 2 is based on Jeyamohan’s short story Thunaivan. The film’s premise explores the conflict between a police constable and the leader of a separatist group. The movie boasts an ensemble cast with notable performances by Soori, Prakash Raj, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Ilavarasu, among others. Set in the 1960s, the film features Malayalam actress Manju Warrier as the female lead.
The film is produced by Elred Kumar and Vetrimaaran under RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music, while Velraj serves as the cinematographer.
