Sivakarthikeyan in Amaran
Actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan is fast solidifying his position in the Tamil film industry by working back-to-back with popular directors. Filmmaker Venkat Prabhu, during a recent interaction with fans, confirmed that he will be directing Sivakarthikeyan next, following the release of The Greatest of All Time.
Recently, there was widespread speculation about Venkat teaming up with Sivakarthikeyan. However, this is the first official confirmation of the project.

"Yes, I am directing Sivakarthikeyan in my next movie. But, Sivakarthikeyan has a few commitments already. He can only work with me after that. So there will be a small gap, but I want that to be my next directorial outing," said Venkat Prabhu.
Sivakarthikeyan is currently awaiting the release of Amaran. Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film is expected to redefine Sivakarthikeyan's image as an action hero. Amaran is based on the life of slain Indian soldier Major Mukund Varadarajan. Produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India, the film is set to hit cinemas on October 31.
Sivakarthikeyan is also busy shooting for his untitled movie with director AR Murugadoss. Tentatively titled SK23, the film is expected to be an action drama. It also stars Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, and Biju Menon, among others.
After SK23, Sivakarthikeyan is expected to join director Sudha Kongara for a period drama titled Purananuru. However, official confirmation is still awaited.
If Purananuru happens, Sivakarthikeyan will join Venkat’s movie afterwards.
Venkat is currently occupied with the post-production work of The Greatest of All Time, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role. He has begun promotional activities with pre-release interviews. This is one of the most expensive films of his career and his first collaboration with Vijay. The film is set to hit screens worldwide on September 5.
