Thalapathy Vijay's film The Greatest of All Time has been on an unstoppable rampage at the box office ever since its initial theatrical release. In addition to the action-packed sequences, memorable cameos, and movie references, audiences have fallen in love with the pairing of Vijay and actress Sneha. The popular duo, last seen together in the 2003 film Vaseegara, reunited after a long hiatus for this Venkat Prabhu directorial. Their onscreen chemistry was praised by fans, who applauded the director for his perfect casting choice.
However, did you know that Sneha wasn’t the first choice to play Vijay’s wife in the film? In a recent interview, director Venkat Prabhu revealed that he initially approached lady superstar Nayanthara for the female lead opposite Vijay.

“I initially planned to cast Nayanthara, but it just didn’t work out for some reason. However, the delightful thing for me is that Nayan called me after watching the film and appreciated my decision to cast Sneha. She even praised Sneha’s performance, saying that no one else could have aced the role like she did,” the director shared.
Venkat Prabhu also mentioned that Nayanthara enjoyed the film and conveyed her best wishes to the team.
The Greatest of All Time becomes the highest-grossing Tamil film in 2024
The Thalapathy Vijay-starrer sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All Time has officially surpassed Dhanush’s Raayan in overall collections, becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year so far. The film has grossed over Rs 300 crore worldwide and continues to break box office records. For context, Raayan's lifetime collections came up to Rs 160 crore. In addition to Thalapathy Vijay, the film features a stellar cast, including Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Jayaram, Laila, Sneha, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash, and Ajmal Ameer.
