Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Is Disha Vakani returning as Dayaben? Asit Kumarr Modi says, 'Still trying'

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, starring Dilip Joshi, Munmun Dutta, and others, is one of the most loved television shows. It garnered everyone's attention for its uniqueness and quirky characters. But Dayaben's character played by Disha Vakani got immense love from the audience. The way she delivered her dialogues and her innocence stole everyone's hearts. However, after her exit from the show, the TRPs have gone down. Netizens have been demanding her return but it's been six years since Dayaben's character has been missing from the show. In a new interview, producer Asit Kumarr Modi spilled the beans on the possibility of Disha's returning to his show.

Will fans get to see Disha Vakani again?

In a recent interview with News 18 Showsha, Asit Kumarr Modi admitted that there has been a delay from their side. He said that even he misses Dayaben in the show. Modi said, "Sometimes circumstances change in such a way that certain things happen and it gets delayed. Sometimes the story gets prolonged. Sometimes some big events come. There were elections in 2024, there was IPL and then the World Cup matches, the rainy season. It gets delayed because of some reasons."

Asit said that Disha might not return to the show but he also confessed that he is still trying to get her back. He added, "I believe Disha Vakani can’t be back. She has two children. She is like my sister. Even today, we have a very close relationship with her family. My sister Disha Vakani has tied a Rakhi to me. Her father and brother are also a family to me. You worked together for 17 years, and it became your extended family."

Further, Asit revealed why Disha's return as Dayaben is not really possible. Since she is busy with her two kids at home, it is difficult for her to juggle. He shared, "For women, life changes after marriage. Working with small children and managing the house is really a bit difficult for them. But I am still positive. I feel somewhere that god will do some miracle and she will return. If she comes, then it will be a good thing. If for some reason she does not come, then I will have to bring another Dayabin for the show."
