Swag Trailer OUT: Sree Vishnu and Ritu Varma’s fun and thrilling drama is all about gender game

Ahead of the release of Sree Vishnu’s upcoming film Swag, the makers recently unveiled the trailer. Written and directed by Hasith Goli, the Telugu film stars Sree Vishnu, Ritu Varma, Sunil, Meera Jasmine, and Daksha Nagarkar in key roles.

Swag Trailer is out

The trailer begins in the year 1551, during a time when male dominance has taken over everything. In the Swaganika dynasty, the king is determined to maintain male supremacy and is yearning for a male heir. This changes in the 1970s when Yayathi, a descendant, struggles to have a son and ends up having several daughters. In the present day, SI Bhavabhuthi, equally determined, discovers that Singa, another descendant of the Swaganika family, may be crucial to the dynasty's future. Bhavabhuthi’s primary responsibility is to ensure the dynasty is passed on to a male heir. However, Vijnamara, the Queen, attempts to ruin his plans for her own larger agenda.

Overall, the trailer looks refreshing with its combination of a historical storyline mixed with modern references. Sree Vishnu, who mesmerized audiences with his stellar performances in films such as Raja Raja Chora, is all set to ace yet another comedic role in this film. Interestingly, the film will see Sree Vishnu donning multiple characters.

Written and directed by Hasith Goli, the Telugu film is expected to be an entertainer. The movie, which is said to showcase a unique concept by the filmmaker features music scored by Vivek Sagar. Camera work for the film is handled by Vedaraman Sankaran, with editing by Viplav Nyshadam and production design by GM Sekhar. Besides Sree Vishnu, the film also stars Ritu Varma, Meera Jasmine, Daksha Nagarkar, Saranya Pradeep, Sunil, Ravi Babu, and others.

Bankrolled by TG Vishwa Prasad of People Media Factory, the film is co-produced by Vivek Kuchibhotla.

Swag is expected to perform well, as the cast and crew have high hopes for the refreshing narrative the film promises to offer. The movie is slated for a grand release on October 4, 2024.
