Suriya in Kanguva
Film distributor Sakthi of the Sakthi Film Factory has expressed great confidence in the ability of the upcoming Tamil film Kanguva to captivate audiences, not just in the South, but also in North Indian states. Starring Suriya in the lead role, Kanguva is one of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2024.
Kanguva, written and directed by Siva, is a fantasy drama featuring Suriya in a double role. Suriya's titular character is a medieval warlord commanding a tribal army. The first-look posters and teaser trailers have already caught the attention of movie buffs across the country.
"Kanguva will make a splash nationwide. The stakeholders in the Hindi states are keeping a close eye on this project. It is expected to generate huge profits in North Indian states," said Sakthi.

Sakthi predicted that Kanguva would elevate Suriya's stardom to another level, helping him foster a fan following in North Indian states. "After Rajinikanth, the only other star who is celebrated by fans in Telugu states, Kerala, and Karnataka is Suriya. And I believe in my gut that Kanguva will be the first pan-Indian hit from Tamil cinema," he remarked.
Tamil movies remain a big draw in the South Indian states, but they have yet to make a significant impact at the box office in the Hindi-speaking states. The trade is confident that Kanguva will pave the way and become a big "pan-India" hit.
"Gnanavel Raja is so confident about the movie that he has decided to release it worldwide himself without partnering with any other distributors. He believes that this film will make huge profits for him," Sakthi added.
Sakthi also revealed that he had the privilege of watching certain portions of the movie. "I experienced goosebumps while watching the song 'Kanga Kanga Kanguva.' I watched it over and over again," he recalled.
Kanguva is due in cinemas on October 10.
