Suriya in and as Kanguva
Tamil superstar Suriya’s upcoming epic Kanguva is already making waves across India, with a key highlight occurring at Gujarat’s Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, where the film’s "Fire" song was played during a martial arts demonstration in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This moment underscores Kanguva's rising reach and the team’s commitment to capturing the pan-Indian audience.
In a proud moment for the makers of Kanguva, Studio Green, the film’s production house, celebrated the song’s feature at Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. An employee of the studio expressed excitement, saying, "Proud moment and massive reach for #Kanguva across the nation. The #FireSong was played at Rashtriya Ekta Diwas in Gujarat." The celebration, attended by Prime Minister Modi, included martial arts displays by the Border Security Force, accompanied by popular South Indian songs, including Kanguva's "Fire" and "Varaha Roopam Daiva Va Rishtam" from the Kannada hit Kantara. The background score and music for Kanguva was scored by Devi Sri Prasad.

With the film’s South Indian release highly anticipated, the Kanguva team has set its sights on expanding Suriya's popularity in North India. Producer KE Gnanavel Raja confirmed extensive promotion strategies targeting Hindi-speaking states, aiming to release the Hindi-dubbed version on over 3,000 screens—the largest release for a Tamil film in recent history.
While Suriya’s stardom is strong in the South, Kanguva's Hindi release ambitions align with hopes of revitalizing Tamil cinema at the pan-Indian box office, potentially aiming for the Rs 1000 crore global mark. Despite past successes from Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi cinema crossing this milestone, Tamil cinema awaits its first entry into this elite club, and Kanguva may just be the film to achieve it.
Directed by Siva and starring Suriya alongside Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, Kanguva releases in cinemas on November 14.
