Tamil superstar Suriya recently attended a meet-and-greet at a popular mall in Kochi to promote his upcoming movie, Kanguva. The event drew the largest crowd in the mall’s history, a testament to Suriya’s rising popularity in Kerala. Fans packed the venue, struggling to catch a glimpse of the actor, prompting Suriya to remind everyone to stay safe amid the excitement.
"I can only pay back your love by making special films every couple of years and ensuring full entertainment for every penny you spend on a ticket. I hope I am worthy of all this love. I promise to give you quality entertainment and will continue to strive to deliver good movies," Suriya told the crowd.

Suriya shared that Kanguva would be his first true "pan-Indian" film, acknowledging the contributions of numerous supporting actors from Kerala.
"I can't say every film I do is a pan-Indian film, but Kanguva truly fits that label. Many actors from Kerala have worked in this film. Around 3,000 supporting actors played warriors, working tirelessly to bring this story to life. I thank my brothers from Kerala for their support," Suriya said.

He also hinted at Kanguva’s unique theatrical experience. "This will be a special experience in theatres," he said, before adding a plug for his “younger brother” Dulquer Salmaan’s film Lucky Bhaskar, which has been performing well. "If you haven’t seen it yet, please go watch it!"
Expressing his deep connection with Kerala, Suriya voiced his desire to work on a Malayalam film. "I receive so much love here in Kerala. I hope to do a direct Malayalam movie soon. I am in talks, and I hope it will happen," he added.
Filmmaker Chidambaram, known for Manjummel Boys, was also in attendance to support Suriya and Kanguva.
Suriya briefly explained the plot of Kanguva, noting that the main story takes place 700 years ago across four islands, each with its own deities. The conflicts between these islands drive the film’s narrative. "It's not just an action movie; it’s driven by emotions. I believe the highest and purest form of love is forgiveness, and that is the core of this film," he revealed.
