Sivakarthikeyan with Rajinikanth
For some time, rumours had circulated that director Lokesh Kanagaraj was planning to cast Sivakarthikeyan in a pivotal role in his highly anticipated film Coolie, which stars the iconic Rajinikanth. If true, this would have marked an extraordinary milestone in Sivakarthikeyan’s journey—an epic moment for a die-hard Rajinikanth fan from a modest background who, through hard work and determination, rose to become one of Tamil cinema’s leading stars. Sharing the screen with his idol would have been a crowning achievement in his career.
However, Sivakarthikeyan recently dispelled these rumours, confirming that he is not part of the Coolie cast. "Lokesh and I hang out a lot. We’re part of a group that includes Maaveeran director Madonne Ashwin, among others. But I am not in Coolie. The shoot is happening near my home in Chennai. After finishing promotions for Amaran, I’ll visit the sets—as a Thalaivar fan, that's my only connection to this film," he clarified to PinkVilla.

Coolie has already drawn a stellar ensemble for Lokesh’s first collaboration with Rajinikanth, including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyaraj. The film is currently in production and is expected to hit theatres next year.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is riding high on the success of Amaran, his career's biggest hit, which has grossed over Rs 200 crore in its first week alone. The film’s team is now promoting its Hindi release, building on its strong momentum.
Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and co-produced by Kamal Haasan, Amaran also stars Sai Pallavi as the female lead. The film is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who died during a seek-and-kill anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014. The film opened to packed houses and garnered glowing reviews from critics. It's a huge hit not just in Tamil Nadu, but also across the South Indian states.
