Shang-Chi Director Destin Daniel Cretton is going to helm Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

Fresh from the announcement of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty , Marvel Studios has confirmed that Shang- Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton will be directing the project.

While the movie is still a ways off, this is major news coming from the studio considering the short gap between the movie's announcement and this.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will introduce a new version of Earth's mightiest heroes to the big screen, it will be interesting to see what new heroes will be featured and which of the originals still remain.

We should know more when the fifth phase of the MCU kicks off with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania next year.

Johnathan Majors will be playing the role of Kang, Kang the Conqueror was first introduced in the season finale of Loki.

Shang-Chi star Simu Liu took to twitter to congratulate his friend, In his tweet, he recalls their first time at Comic-Con, feeling starstruck from seeing all the big-name celebrities. Now, Destin is about to direct one of the biggest upcoming films in the MCU.

Cretton is currently developing a live-action series of Wonder Man for Disney+ as well the sequel to Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings.

Marvel Studio's also announced the director for their other upcoming projects at SDCC Bassam Tariq is directing Blade; Julius Onah will helm Captain America: New World Order, and Jake Schreier is directing Thunderbolts.

Shan-Chi was a surprise hit for Marvel and was well received by fans and critics alike hopefully, Destin Daniel Cretton can create the success.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2025.
