Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan to Prabhas starrer Adipurush: Most searched Bollywood films of 2023

Google has finally unveiled the list of most searched movies of 2023, and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan has topped the list. Not only this, Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo also have taken the spot in the list. Well, here we have listed the most searched Bollywood film which made it to the most searched list this year. Take a look:

Jawan: For the first time, superstar Shah Rukh Khan collaborated with South director Atlee and took the box office by storm. Upon release, the film shattered all the records and turned out to be the biggest hit of the year. The film marks Nayathara’s Bollywood debut. It also features Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani among others. Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt have cameo appearances in the movie.

Gadar 2: Sunny Deol made his much-anticipated comeback as Tara Singh in Gadar 2 after 22 years. The Anil Sharma directorial sees Tara Singh return to Pakistan in order to rescue his imprisoned son Charanjeet "Jeete" Singh played by Utkarsh Sharma. The film also sees Ameesha Patel reprising her role as Sakina. The film emerged to be the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023, collecting Rs 691 crore.

Adipurush: Ever since the announcement of Adipurush, fans had been eagerly waiting to see the mythological drama based on the epic Ramayana. Directed by Om Raut, the film features Prabhas and Kriti Sanon as Ram and Sita respectively, and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana. The film received criticism for its screenplay and dialogues, and also underperformed at the box office.

Pathaan: The Siddharth Anand directorial marked Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the screen after a hiatus of five years. The film caught the audience’s attention for its glamorous and action-packed sequences. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in the pivotal roles. Salman Khan made a special appearance in the film that became one of the biggest grossers of 2023.

The Kerala Story: Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the film created debate over characterizing the work as Islamophobic propaganda. The film also received negative reviews from critics as well as faced protracted litigation and protests, primarily in Kerala, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu upon release.

Tiger 3: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s reunion in ‘Tiger 3’ generated significant buzz as the fans were waiting for the third instalment from Tiger franchise with bated breath. Despite controversy and ban in several Gulf countries, the film created a massive box office collection.
